De Rigueur Designs (TM) has adopted a proprietary sonochemical deposition process using a non-toxic, uv-resistant, hydrophobic, oleophobic, corrosion-resistant, 9h-hardness-levelgloss developed from nanotechnology. Nanogloss™ mimics the surface structure of the lotus flower–the lotus effect refers to self-cleaning properties that are a result of ultra hydrophobicity as exhibited by the leaves of nelumbo or “lotus flower”. dirt particles are picked up by water droplets due to the micro- and nanoscopic architecture on the surface, which minimizes the droplet’s adhesion to that surface. Nanogloss™ bonds to the precious metal layer at at the molecular level, filling in any nano-pores and creating a permanent, glossy, protective layer and offering superior performance. this nano coating formulation used as industrial protective applications for planes, boats, oil rigs, and nuclear power plants meant to hold up the the most extreme conditions.

All of our jewelry pieces are hypoallergenic and certified Nickel-free, Lead-free, Cadmium-free, and Phthalates-free.

Gold

Gold models are 3D printed using a complex five-step process. First, the model is printed in wax using a specialized high-resolution 3D printer. It is then put in a container where liquid plaster is poured in around it. When the plaster sets, the wax is melted out in a furnace, and the remaining plaster becomes the mold.Molten Gold is poured into this mold and set to harden. The plaster is broken away, revealing your new product. The product is then carefully cleaned and hand-polished to give it the trademark Gold luster. Please be aware that polishing can wear down or fill in very fine details and edges. Polishing also removes a bit of material from your product in order to smooth it out, so the exact volume may be slightly smaller than that of your digital model.

Silver

3D Printed Sterling Silver products are made using a three-step process. The products are created with a lost-wax casting process using a high-resolution 3D wax printer. The 3D printed wax model is put in a container and liquid plaster is poured around it to create a mold. After the plaster sets, the wax is melted out and molten silver is poured into the plaster mold. The plaster is then pulled away to reveal the silver and the finished product is polished for a smooth surface.
